Mute

Silence one explicit branch of the graph.

Muted means zero output from this node. Other independent branches are unaffected by this node.

01 / Understand

The idea, before the settings.

Place Mute on the exact branch you want to silence. Its scope follows the connections through that node, making it clear which input or mix is affected.

BranchMuteDestination

Use it in AudioRouter

  1. Put Mute on the specific branch you want to silence.
  2. Select Muted and verify its downstream meter falls silent.
  3. Restore the signal deliberately when ready; other branches retain their own states.

What success looks like

Only audio through this node is silenced; it does not act as a global microphone toggle.

If it does not work

If another source remains audible, trace its separate path. Do not assume one mute controls every input.

Select the node to open Properties. Click its name to rename it. While playing, supported parameter-only edits save after a short pause. For structural edits, use Save when the canvas marks a change. Enabled and Bypass are distinct live controls; see the in-app help for their behavior.

02 / Explore

Make the behavior visible.

Input reference remains available for comparison even when Output is muted. This audition choice affects only the lesson monitor.

The example repeats until you press Stop, and control changes are heard immediately. The picture shows the tool's shape rather than time; follow the timing in Follow the sound below. This is not a DSP measurement or control for your running AudioRouter session.

03 / Configure

Every control, with a reason.

01

Muted

muted

Silences the branch passing through this node.

Range / choicesOn / offDefaultfalse

↓ Lower / alternativeOff allows this tool to pass its input.

↑ Higher / alternativeOn sends silence from this tool.

Try thisMute a microphone branch without muting application audio.

Keep in mind Parallel routes around the node remain audible.

04 / Put it to work

Start with a useful example.

Example 1

Mute one microphone

  1. Put Mute directly after that microphone.
  2. Connect the downstream voice tools to Mute output.
  3. Toggle Muted and verify this branch stops while unrelated sources remain.
Example 2

Mute a complete mix

  1. Place Mute after the Mixer.
  2. Use it to silence all sources that converge through that Mixer output.

These are starting points. Compare at a comfortable monitoring level and adjust for your own source.

05 / Get unstuck

Small details that matter.

  • A Mute on one branch does not silence a second parallel connection around it.
  • Bypassing a muting tool can restore its dry audio.
