What success looks like
One source replaces the other through a transition; this is not a permanent sum like Mixer.

Choose one of two explicitly connected inputs.
See how it works ↓Normal uses a 0.5-second equal-power crossfade; Slow uses two seconds. Shift-click offers the slow choice in the canvas. A lone connected source is audible only when its side is selected.
Connect one source to A and another to B. The selected side is heard at the single output. Switching crossfades rather than cutting abruptly.
One source replaces the other through a transition; this is not a permanent sum like Mixer.
If the chosen input is silent, check its incoming source before repeatedly switching.
Select the node to open Properties. Click its name to rename it. While playing, supported parameter-only edits save after a short pause. For structural edits, use Save when the canvas marks a change. Enabled and Bypass are distinct live controls; see the in-app help for their behavior.
Input A is drums/bass; Input B is a bell melody. Listen to either reference separately, then Output while changing selection. Slow fade lasts two seconds in this example.
The example repeats until you press Stop, and control changes are heard immediately. The picture shows the tool's shape rather than time; follow the timing in Follow the sound below. This is not a DSP measurement or control for your running AudioRouter session.

↓ Lower / alternativeChoose A to transition toward A.
↑ Higher / alternativeChoose B to transition toward B.
Try thisA can be voice and B can be a backup source.
Keep in mind Selecting an empty side is silent.

↓ Lower / alternativeNormal uses half a second.
↑ Higher / alternativeSlow uses two seconds.
Try thisChoose Slow for a leisurely program handoff.
Keep in mind The transition briefly contains both sources.
These are starting points. Compare at a comfortable monitoring level and adjust for your own source.
